Is this the final view from the drowning person’s perspective? Horrible, perish the thought; then consider this……

I do go banging on about the Marines and my friends, the past etc etc. However this man is history, the present and the future all in one. 

Mark Ormrod was blown up in Afghanistan in 2007, he is a triple amputee and a raging nutter! He has one arm, yesterday he swam across Plymouth Sound. Think about it, go on, have a damn good think. One arm and he swam from Drake’s Island to the Hoe. He’s a bloody inspiration and still a nutter. I admit to choking up a bit when I explained to Elaine, what he had done.

Up on Dartmoor we had organised a charity Yomp. Mark turned up with his wife, she was busy and he couldn’t be bothered to wait so he used his one arm to propel his wheelchair across to the signing in point. Nutter. He’s just a normal bloke, apart from he’s a nutter, and only has one arm. Did I mention he’s a nutter. I have never met anybody else like him. Indomitable, courageous and probably has dark moments, but you or I will never see those.
