Flying fingers

So it was really the concert this evening. As we set out again, I reckoned they should have gone with my instinct and had it yesterday, because a few spots of rain fell. But the good thing about the venue in Saint Laurent is that they'd been able to move it from the open-air amphitheatre to the open-sided market hall, which worked really well as an "open air" but sheltered venue with room for an audience of a hundred or so -- nearly every physically distanced seat was taken.

Not so great as a photographic venue, as the musicians were in deep shadow in front of the increasingly bright landscape, as all the clouds blew away and the sun came out. This is the only photo I took, and I was really surprised that it was usable given the conditions; the camera had trouble even focusing.

The music? It was brilliant, flamenco-style compositions played on a guitar (Mael Goldwaser) and accordion (Arthur Bacon). Mael wasn't too shabby and Arthur was flat-out brilliant. Never heard an accordion played quite like this. Have a listen ...

S and T were there too, so we had a glass of wine and some nibbles with them after the concert, Then S and I dropped in at R's gallery, which he'd been preparing for an exhibition when we passed yesterday evening. Impressed that he'd got everything hung in time, as he hadn't even started yesterday. Another glass of wine was taken, with more chat. Another very pleasant evening, and still home for the 9 pm curfew!
