Chasing The Dragon

Though I got lots of bug shots, including some lovely cardinal beetles, I had decided to give bugs a rest and post Jack heron over the lake this morning. (Extras)

That was until I captured my first dragonfly of the season amongst the buttercups this evening. It's a beautifully fresh female, or immature male, broad bodied chaser. It looked wonderful hovering between the golden blooms, in its golden suit in the golden light.
