Unexpected surprise

Wandering with my camera today, when two police officers passed me by. They promptly U-turned and pulled up alongside me. I could only see their eyes but I immediately recognised the first one as we worked together about ten years ago.

He was part of a small specialist unit undertaking a very stressful role and part of my job had been (I suppose) to ensure their well-being.

Apparently I did an ok job and left a positive impression, which is nice.

Stood chatting for way too long but left me feeling ok about myself today :)
