Ya’sher ko’ach
Me in my Tilly hat. They are great for travel, so great that they developed a following and then a price increase ;-) I'm trying to flirt with the camera but other than one minute with Kendall I haven't flirted in so long that I'm not sure I remember how.
So I added a little interest another way.
I got to attend a bar and bat mitzvah this morning! It was my first one so it was very new, never mind Zooming it. They did eight kids in one event! This is also atypical. It was tied in to the pandemic and the uncertainties of the world they are entering adulthood into. The focus was the Israelites after Egypt, their fear, and their complaining. One incredibly funny kid/new man pointed out that the Israelites had just been freed from slavery and could only complain and compared it to people with books, television, houses, enough food, assured they'd get a vaccine, complaining that they had nothing to do. He mentioned that God was overly harsh in his punishments and tried to compare it to his dad taking away his X-box, but he messed up and said his dad took away his brother and it was even funnier than all the other great jokes that he made on purpose.
If you ever want to know how conservative your partner is, take them to an event of their religion, but done a little differently than they're used to.
- They are singing that prayer!
- Who knows what people who would sing the Shema would do? That's a sin!
