Tuesday

Another type of allium.

Fast asleep in bed, Mr C came and woke me at 11.30pm to tell me that my mum was coming up the following day. ‘Sh**’ was my response firstly in my rather confused state thinking something had happened to dad but also the house would need cleaning. It turns out that her older sister who lives close to us was taken into hospital and was very poorly. (Mums childhood was not a great one. Her parents had 8 children but couldn’t look after them so they spent their childhood in a home/ boarding school type of place and spent a lot of her early adult life looking after/ dealing with her siblings and once she had me she decided to take a step back from her family ~ apart from her late younger sister who she stayed close with and apart from Christmas cards and the very occasional phone call have not seen each other for 30+ years or so). Mum was upset from the phone call from the hospital and decided to come up.

I then lay awake wondering how she was coming up. If by train, it will go into London, we are working, how will she get here etc etc. I found out in the morning that dad was also coming and driving

Wednesday

I failed to take any blips so just a journal update.

I got up and it was a mad dash around to try and tidy as best as I could in the short space of time. As Josh is still staying here on and off, I asked him to strip the bed as they will have to stay there.  After school, I shot home to make the bed ... 10 minutes later they were here! :-o

Lucy also came home earlier than normal and was great at ringing the hospital to find out when they could go up. Now was the reply. So Lucy came with me to drop them off and she also, wisely, decided to go in with them to help find the ICU and also helped them put their ppe masks etc on. In the meantime I was just driving around (hospital car parks cost a bomb) waiting for Lucy to call. I then returned to pick them up an hour or so later.  They think my aunt may have had an anaphylactic shock (although a little puzzled why at such an age) as her tongue/throat had swelled up. This impacted on her breathing which had stopped and her heart had stopped for a short time too. She was heavily sedated and will be for another day or two.

I’m exhausted ! :-D)
