Parc Slip, near Bridgend, South Wales.
My wife and I went for a walk around this 300 acre nature reserve which was originally a coal mine opened in 1860 and employed 200 . We came across this wooden carving which stands as a memorial to the 112 men and boys who lost their lives as a result of a massive explosion there on 26th August 1892.
