BIGGIN HILL
We call this bird cherry tree (prunus padus) Biggin Hill, because there are often ten or more birds of different species sitting in it, in a holding pattern waiting for their turn to land on the bird feeder. Occasionally a 747 in the shape of a jackdaw, or the Red Arrows in the shape of the greenfinches jump the queue, but normally air traffic control works seamlessly.
It's been a day for finishing off minor jobs, banking, domestic arrangements, cleaning out the fridge, getting my hair cut, doing the laundry - you've guessed it, off on holiday tomorrow. First break since September. Stand by for a diverse range of images as the Prof and I hit the metropolis in week one and I go native in the prairies in week two.
