This might not be exactly how
they will all remember it. Nor us.
Some will say the light was brighter
and that the sea and the sky
 
were both much bluer. And you might
not think you said what you did,
but you did. Did I? Are you sure?  Yes,
and there was that awful couple who swore
 
at one another the whole time. Oh yes,
and when he took his shirt off I’d assumed
he’d have tattoos all over. But he hadn’t.
And we waited hours for the boat to come
 
but it didn’t.
