Man with sore feet

This is the statue sitting on a bench at the end of the 96 miles West Highland way. We moved on to Fort William today having done a short walk from our site and we managed to see red deer, greylag geese and highland cows.
Pitched and had lunch at new site and then walked up the hill behind the campsite and into Fort William, only about 4K each way but it was so hot and felt really hard work. The coffee shop we were intending to visit was closed and actually the only one still open was Costa, I can’t understand why coffee shops in a tourist town don’t open on a Sunday. We got a takeaway and sat on a wall looking onto the harbour and high street, only when sat for a while did I notice the statue and how many people took selfies with it. I looked it up and seemingly it is the most photographed thing in Fort William.
Got back and had a beer sat in the sun until it was time to cook.
This place has so many good memories, we first came here in 1978 in a Morris Minor traveller and a tent and have been many times since in every camper we have had. It’s changed a lot but I still love it.
