Puffin spotting
One of the advantages of staying this weekend in Filey is its proximity to Bempton Cliffs in puffin season. Normally a fairly lengthy day trip from home, we managed to arrive a bit after nine and got parked on the actual car park not the overflow. We had driven through a sea fret and wondered about visibility but it did clear to blue skies before we left. Puffin spotting was as much of a sport as on previous visits and the hordes of gannets spectacular.
Tea and lovely cake at a recommended cafe in the next village and we did a circuit of Bridlington but didn’t stop. A walk on our own sands instead but in the opposite direction to the previous two nights and an ice cream to see us back up the beach.
Another very lovely day.
