Heavy burden

The echium flowers are a particular favourite of the bees. As the plants are currently about 12ft tall, there is plenty of space for lots of bees. Trying to distract myself, I set about getting a shot of a bee collecting pollen. I took lots of shots and this was the most successful. I cannot believe the amount of pollen he is carrying. Must weigh a tonne!
