The sun shines... briefly

We had the sun shining briefly today. So good after the past 3 days downpour. Apparently up to 150ml rain over the city. Parts of our area have reported over 400ml over 3 days. Now as a consequence just about every river has breached their banks, and roads are closed. I have friends who wanted to travel 2 hrs to get home- the only way was 13 hrs around the South Island. Amazing. A huge cleanup ahead. Have been very lucky.
