Hole in the tree

This happens a lot around here. People plant street trees, not realising how big they will grow, and the trees get mixed up with the power lines. So then the Powers that Be come around and chop the trees, and as they aren’t arborists, the results are often ugly. The trees are cropped, like dumpy mushrooms, or lopsided, or, as with this one, there is a hole in the tree.

After I photographed this one this morning, I noticed the chopped trees everywhere I walked and drove today. There are a lot.
