A wary eye

Catching up with backblips and comments after a busy couple of days.

The bright sunshine has brought us out into the garden and we are seeing several adult birds with young to feed.  Not so sure about the starlings,  they just seem to be intent on a pointless argument most of the time, aside from this one?
The woodpecker is often about early in the morning, before 07:00.  Yesterday I saw him or her loose patience with a group of squabbling starlings and just charge into the melee like a rugby forward clearing out a ruck.
