Sunning

Suzanne and I had a lovely outing this morning, to a site that isn't on our usual list of favorites.  I had seen that owlets had been spotted here, and I had seen an eagle nest in the past, so we knew it was worth a visit.  Fortunately, a birder and photographer pointed out two owlets, or we never would have seen them.  Check out Suzanne's journal here to see one of the adorable babies.  I got a quick shot of a Great Crested Flycatcher, but the quality isn't great, so I'm blipping this Eastern Ratsnake.  I'm not a reptile fan in general, but I like the way this one curled around the branch, similar in a fashion to the stem that appears around it.
