promises

of a blaze of colour to come

this is Berberis darwinii in bud. I have several bushes of it, and wish I had planted many more as hedging instead of leylandii, and they are all laden with flower buds and promise to be spectacular over the next week or two.

There was a smattering of snow on the ground this morning and the wind was icy, but it was brilliant to have such a bright day filled with sunshine.

After a rather hectic morning out in the cold it was nice to work in the polytunnel, where it was positively hot.
