The Visitors

My niece and her husband arrived at the cottage this afternoon and I will be going back home again tomorrow.   My time is up for now but I will be back again soon.   
We were sitting out is the screened-in porch after dinner this evening when we heard the beaver slap its tail on the water - once, twice.....was that six times?    Oh my, that is definitely a warning that something dangerous to the beavers is nearby.    There it was along the shore near the beaver dam - a mother black bear and her cub.   How exciting is that?   We got the binoculars and my camera, and headed out very slowly and quietly in the small boat to try to get a better look.   Not too close though.    We don't want to frighten her,  just observe from a distance.  
I managed to take a few photos - although most didn't turn out.    The photos I did post are not great either, but they are the best I had.
