Among the masses of Water Avens (Geum rivale)  which were growing beside the path  my attention was attracted to this mutation which had the usual shaped flowers lower down on its stem as in the extra. This one is facing up and appears to have several petals unlike the normal flowers which droop down with their petals almost obscured by the purple sepals.  I don’t know if this is an example of peloria or the identification of the tiny green caterpillar which was feeding on it is but possibly one of you know.
