In April last year I left my job as a Specialist Nurse in contraception after 25 years, and became a community nurse in the care home support team. Due to Covid there was never a leaving “do”, we were all too busy helping out and being redeployed because of the pandemic. I had arranged to meet a former colleague for lunch today. Little did I know that she had arranged for another 4 of our former colleagues to join us and I received the leaving presents they had collected to buy me over a year ago. It was the loveliest of surprises. Then when I got home my son had just received a job offer for the job he really wanted, he has just completed his final year at University. All in all a most excellent day!
