Meer-squirrel!

After work today I went for a walk along the coast at La Jolla. The place is teeming with wildlife, including this little fellow. He came so close to me I thought he was going to eat my toe at one point. And to tell the truth, my feet are generally not something you want to get too close to.

Anyway, at one point I saw him in this pose and I was lucky - he held it long enough that I was able to get this picture.

I hadn't realised the squirrels would stand up like that... you learn something new every day!
