Nigella damascena

Persian violet, Love in a Mist, Devil's Club. They self-seed all over the place here, and not necessarily where I'd prefer, but they're so gorgeous I just let them be most of the time, and step around them when necessary.

New factoid: it's called Love In a Mist because the fennel-like foliage appears like a mist around the flower...
