“I got through here somehow!”

When we got up this morning, we found the baby deer in our garden again, with mama deer the other side of the fence! We’re guessing he/she got in somewhere where the wire mesh doesn’t quite go to the ground, or is bent, but then having got in, she can’t find her way out again! I went out with my camera, and took a few shots, as I went down the garden to open the gate, with Mom watching warily from the other side! I didn’t actually see the baby go, she was hidden behind our evergreen tree at the time, but by the time we had our breakfast out on the patio, they were both gone!
It was a gorgeous hot sunny day today, but we had jobs to do. Roger was continuing with his job of replacing our outside lights on the patio - 5 in total - one wall-mounted one by the laundry room door, one either side of the breakfast room door, and two on the two low walls at the corners of the patio. While he was busy doing that, I worked on tidying and cleaning the kitchen, then continued planting the patio containers, and then cutting the grass, front and back. A busy but satisfying day, and we treated ourselves to dinner out at our favourite Mediterranean restaurant!
