Day 3 - the big thaw - sunshine

Guernsey's worst snow storm for decades is thawing today. Schools are still all closed and the airport is hoping to re-open at 3pm. Over 50 trees are reported to have fallen, and many roads are still littered with abandoned cars and branches in the upper parishes.
