Despite Kt, Heston and I being up early, we took a while to gear up fully (and T to wake up!), so our plans for a two part day shifted and we mainly did a wander round the farmers market and town (followed by a late afternoon snooze!) rather than also taking in Hopetoun gardens as planned.
There were many more people in town than recently, and the band and jiving couples on the Grassmarket were surrounded by the sort of audiences gathered around that I haven’t seen since summer 2019.
We grazed on ice cream and sausage rolls as we wandered, and sat out at a pavement bar for cocktails in the warm sunshine (just in time to hear the one o’clock gun), and on my way out of a patisserie to get T a snack later I managed to trip and fall flat, luckily avoiding squashing the cake flat, and not hurt but somewhat embarrassed by making such a spectacular exit!
Home for a snooze and chill out, then out for a late supper at Locanda de Gusti. Kt and I had seafood feasts and unfortunately quite a few of the items T would have chosen were finished for the evening but he had some rather good pork chops so was happy.
Home and watched a bit of the Netflix F1 documentary....we all thought it was much more interesting than the races themselves and we got to see the place N works for Renault’s team.
