I have won the lottery

Bought my first Spitfire today after winning the Euromillions.

Meanwhile back on Planet Cold Hard Reality, we went for fuel to Humberside and spotted this beauty parked up waiting for fuel.

So we wandered over and I licked it clean - I am a Spitfire nut!

It's a Mark 16 - not as well known as the best version, the Mk 9, but it's a Spitfire! What a glorious sight to behold!

I asked the owner, and he let me take it for a spin so I took off and lo and behold, there was a Heinkel 111 and a couple of Me109s inbound, so I shot them down and returned for tea and medals and a mug of hot chocolate.

Ok, I am fantasising again :-)
