Farewell gifts

The last day was preceeded by sadness. But when the day came, it was more of an emotional numbness, perhaps a natural defence mechanism to deal with situations that can get a bit overwhelming.

I realized two things. One, that some people have forgotten what sincerity is. They are far from being human. So, I did lose a bit of money today. Was saddened by it.

But the other thing I realized is that some people still remember exactly what sincerity is. For me, it was a touching moment, just before I turned away from office for the last time. Perhaps I should have continued the conversation. Perhaps what I heard was enough.

I knew I was going to ignore the former. I like my peace.
