Sheringham Park.
After a slight hiccup on the journey down, we are now settled into our favourite B&B in North Norfolk.
Managed to arrive at Brancaster Staith in time for lunch. Two crab sandwiches and a tub of cockles from the Crab Shack, which we ate overlooking the harbour/ Staith.
We had noticed the cars and caravans piling out of Norfolk after the Bank Holiday week, so it wasn’t too busy.
Then on to Sheringham Park, where we were hoping to see the Rhododendrons.
( We hadn’t realised you had to book online , but on showing our National Trust cards the kind lady on the gate let us in!)
As you can see we weren’t disappointed.
Even managed to see the steam train as it passed by on it’s way to Holt. Not quite sure why it wasn’t pulling any coaches.
Although the car park was quite full there didn’t seem so many people about.
As we only had an hour and a half we didn’t do our usual walk, but did manage to get as far as the house. ( Not open to the public)
Then to our B& B. So good to be back and see Alison again. Usual welcome of tea and freshly baked fruit cake.
The other couple staying there are also from Yorkshire and have also stayed many times.
All very well organised for social distancing.
Even having our breakfasts at a different time.
Just back from Holt where we have had an enjoyable evening meal at Byfords. Then a drive down to Blakeney and along the coast road to Salthouse and back. Lovely sunset.
A wonderful enjoyable start to our four nights away.
