What a mess!

We tried to come home from work at lunch time through the Talbot Valley, it's a pretty area of the Island and we were met by this!
Normally we can get 2 cars through this area, but for now it is a no go area, the weight of the snow has devastated so much, there are an amazing amount of trees down like these, whole trees and boughs, branches, hedges weighted down into the roads, some roads are completely full still of snow drifts of 3 or 4 feet deep, guttering will have to be replaced as it's snapping or at least sagging under the weight of the snow, the sun is out today so hopefully roads will thaw, but some roads will take a bit more than that, they had JCB's out today trying to clear the roads, but it's very slow, also Nurses, Dr's and essential hospital workers have had to sleep in unused areas in the hospital as they couldn't get home to the higher parishes. But after all that, dare I say it has been so pretty ;0)
