Saguaro, up close

Having seen many of these in the Phoenix area, I had to have my own piece of the southwest and purchased an 18 inch saguaro. Planting was tricky, those prickers are sharp! And there are lots and lots of them, as the photo shows. Here's hoping this newest addition to the family lives a long and healthy life. If I'm successful, this may well have to have provisions made for it in my will, as it is not uncommon for them to live to be 150.
