Goldfinch in summer sun
While trying to get some decent photos of the bees using the hole in the lawn, I got out the old naturewatch camera, but his was pretty hopeless for a number of reasons, including the ridiculously wide angle lens, lack of proper shutter speed/aperture, and lack of sensitivity to the movement of the bees. However, while I had it out I decided to use it with one of the bird feeders, and although the lens was still far too wide angle, and the sensitivity to movement was a real problem (I ended up with 1000 photos, mostly of the feeder itself or branches in the background blowing in the wind), the results weren't too bad.
