No kidding

... this really is a photo of a hoopoe. Taken at extreme range, massively cropped and zoomed, as it was perched on a roof I couldn't get close to. But I felt proud to have caught it, after half an hour following its hoop-hoop-hoops round the village. Earlier it perched on another roof closer to me, but flew off in the 2 seconds it took me to get the camera out.

That's pretty much the sole excitement of my day! It has been a lovely day weather wise though, albeit rather breezy, and we'll go and have an apero on the square in the garden shortly.
