Blown away by the North Sea

The forecast was for some showers this afternoon and we landed up in Whitby. It was rather busy and there was a chilly wind blowing from the North Sea. We walked up to the Abbey ruins but we hadn’t brought our English Heritage membership cards with us today and I was loathe to pay out again. My main blip is looking down on the main beach. The extra shows the church and abbey ruins.
On the way home, the heavens opened and we had thunder and lightening. We watched as a schoolgirl stopped to pour rainwater from her shoes. We saw lots of schoolchildren whose school uniforms were absolutely soaked including their school blazers.
