Truncated

This Horse Chestnut tree, number 01022, was an old friend of mine but in April we noticed the dreaded crosses marked on its trunk. Further up the park trees were being felled.

It was interesting to pass it today and note that, although its limbs had been removed, fresh growth had appeared in an attempt to compensate.

So there, council. you haven't got me yet!
