Up to my middle

in the river Torridge.
The splash is a half pound trout which I returned safely.
There was a large mayfly hatch which made it hard work convincing the wily trout to try my imitation, however half a dozen times it worked.
Kingfishers were really active and as I clambered up into the meadow from the steep river bank I was fortunate to watch a barn owl quartering and successfully capturing several furry critters presumably for its offspring.
All in all a pleasant evening.
