Mummy's come home!!!

I was having lunch on a canal bank and I could hear constant noises coming from the reeds on the opposite bank.
After a while a little chick swam out and looked around - still cheeping.
It then swam down the middle of the canal still cheeping - which was worrying as it was right out in the open and obvious to any passing predators!

After a while it saw me sitting on the bank - probably due to me moving to get my camera - and went back into the reeds.

A few minutes later this adult Coot came round the corner and it appeared to be a parent - so the little chick is now OK!!Hear endeth today's episode of 'Stories with Mike".
