Car Wash

Mrs C had a whole raft of things to do this morning, culminating in a visit to the car wash. I was helping out by going to the bank for her (to save her having to find somewhere to park) and decided to walk down the long way round for a bit of exercise.
Arrived at the car wash just as she was driving into position. Declined to join her sitting in a hot car whilst it was being washed so stood in the sun taking care to stay well back from the assorted pressure washers that were flying around.
Because those boys were not hanging around! As soon as the car was in position the wheels were being sprayed. That chap only just got out of the way in time before jet wash man soaked the car all over and applied shampoo. Then the guys with the sponges leapt into action, swiftly soaping the entire car before dodging swiftly to one side as the jet wash man returned to rinse off the suds. A few more assorted sprays and rinses, and we were all done.
In actual fact, four cars were being dealt with simultaneously at any one time and it really was like watching a well choreographed ballet as they switched from car to car, avoiding each other - and the spray from the pressure washers - at all times. So good was one chap at avoiding the spray that he kept a fag going all the time he was working.
This is a deservedly popular car wash in Kendal. Though they work quickly, they do not skimp and the car is always gleaming when they’ve finished.
I prefer to wash my car at home - I find it quite therapeutic - but Mrs C is more than happy to hand over a fiver and let someone else do all the hard work. Not least because, at 4’10”, she can never reach the middle of the roof!
