A manky old frisbee & G7 rantings

Quite often when I go on my walks I find manky old tennis balls. Ann always lets me bring them home, as long as I carry them myself. Ann doesn't do, touching manky old tennis balls. I've got almost 20 manky old tennis balls in my toy basket now.

Today I found a manky old frisbee. It was all cracked and broken but I didn't care. I ran around with it for ages and ages. Then I put it down while I had a roll around on my back and the wind blew it away while I wasn't looking. Boohoo....................

…................And in other news.................... G7!!!

For those of you who follow politics, you will know that the G7 summit is being held in Cornwall at the weekend (where we have a home that is currently rented out to holiday makers). Why a weeny, teeny, little seaside town was chosen to host this event we will never know. There has been a lot of negative comments on social media in the last few months. On the one hand Ann wishes we were there to experience a major international event. On the other hand, she's glad she's not, because the whole thing just sounds like a chaotic mess?!

A lot of holiday makers have cancelled which after not being able to earn any income for 8 months due to lockdown isn't good. Fortunately we have visitors who are leaving tomorrow and new ones arriving so here's hoping they'll be able to make it in/out of St Ives before the main road into town closes. It's going to be chaos on the main changeover day which is Saturday. Delays of between 2-4 hours have been quoted to get through the roadblocks and into town. And then visitors leave/arrive on Sunday.

Ann has tried to be a 'good host' and sent them lots of links to the 'Devon & Cornwall Police site' and 'G7 info page' and both lots of visitors didn't even have a clue G7 was happening. Well why would they? We're in Edinburgh and although in the last few days G7 has started to be mentioned on the news, it's not actually said anything about where its being held.

Ann's getting a bit stressed, that because the logistics of actually moving around the area are so limited, then her guests will get grumpy. And after working in a holiday let agency for 10 years, Ann knows that when visitors are grumpy, they start to pick fault with where they are staying.

Oh well, ho hum, this time next week it will all be over!!
