It is unlikely that the partial solar eclipse will be visible here on Thursday morning if the cloudy forecast is correct.  Nor can I guarantee to see the sunrise on Midsummer Day so when I woke up this morning and saw the sun rising it seemed a suitable time to take a photo even though it will rise four minutes earlier on the 21st June.   Shortly afterwards the cloud obliterated the sun which remained hidden for much of the day and I returned to bed.
