Straight tootsies and shark in the pool!
Amazingly straight! We are so happy with the results and relieved she hasn't seemed in any discomfort. Thank you to Dr Sinclair at the Children's Medical Centre and to all our supportive friends and family members. I have to be honest and say she preferred the casts to the special shoes she is now wearing. The casts made a much more impressive noise banging on the floor and the shoes are fiddly to put on and off again.
Great day today. I took the twins for their first swim of the season. They had an absolute blast at the pools. I even managed to sit down on the lounger and watch them play with their new friend Noah. They all chatted and bossed each other around and shared and took toys from each other. It was hilarious.
At one stage, I heard an almighty scream. I leapt up to see what it was and there was Oscar shaking in his boots at what looked like a very real baby-sized shark! just floating there. Poor Oscar was shuddering and said, "My scared mummy!" He ran to the side of the pool as Bailee went over to put her hand in the offending shark's mouth. It did look very real. We had a good chat about it and even I was surprised when eventually Oscar accepted the shark wasn't going to bite and that it was safe to swim in the pool.
It makes me wonder why Oscar was scared of it? Was it just the big, sharp teeth? I don't remember him ever watching anything scary about sharks or talking to him about them. I am glad he came around.
In the afternoon, I took Oscar to investigate a local Spring Camp the twins may go to. Oscar didn't want to leave so it may be a goer. I am a bit nervous about them being away from home for those mornings but as long as they enjoy it, I think it will be fun for them.
