Sydney Real Estate

Real estate in Australia and New Zealand has been pretty crazy in the last... I dunno... 10 years - but it's been particularly odd since COVID.  No one's quite sure why - it just is.

I don't know why this birds' nest made me think of real estate.  I guess it's in such a desperate place - it's about 1.6m (about 5 feet) off the ground on a twig of a tree.  And it's empty.  There are quite a lot of empty apartments in the inner city of Sydney and other Australian.

Another curiosity, perhaps related to empty apartments, is that our supermarkets ran out of tinned fruit late last year.  The relationship between the two is perhaps that our fruit has traditionally been picked by people visiting Australia from overseas who supplement their income, meet people and get to know a little bit more about something other than the city (where they stay for a few months).
