A Beautiful Demoiselle

Oh, if you think "birds in flight" is a challenge, try "Damselfies in Flight"! I had a delightful morning walking the fields around the village and I took the long lens down into the Little Avon - literally. 

It was wonderful, after the hot sunshine, to walk along the riverbed shallows, with rushing water over my feet and everywhere in green shades. The damselflies, Beautiful Demoiselles in this stretch of the river, were all over the place. 

However, when I got home not a single in flight shot was in focus! Oh well. This shot is pretty much an out of the camera 30% crop, and the sunlight on the wings of the insect has dropped everything else into darkness.
