Subtle Reflections
A classic day in the Lakes, low cloud, obscuring the higher tops, rain in the air. I still walked out early, around the lake, up to Loughrigg Terrace and then returning via the road to Red Bank.
I was lucky that despite some wind there was enough definition in the reflections to create this image. I still needed to use a long exposure, built up of 10 multi exposures to smooth the water.
We were going to head up Silver How, but by breakfast the clouds had lowered to obscure the summit, which at 380 metres was hardly the highest in the area. Instead we headed down to Windermere, popped into the Lakeland Store and met a self-confessed sconnoisseur. When I asked the question, she admitted to just preferring butter, but when pushed it was jam first and then cream. It's our last evening in the village, its home tomorrow but a meet with friends first before the drive.
