The municipality of Harlingen has commissioned four floating algae screens of 25 meters each. They have to prevent algae sludge from washing up on the beach.

If the pilot has the desired effect, six screens will be added next year. The screens are suspended from pontoons and floats.

The pontoon, which i blipped 29th may has been extended this year from 50 to 200 meters. Due to the corona measures, the pontoon has been widened to three meters; this makes it possible to keep one and a half meters away.
