Beecraigs Loch
Today was absolutely brilliant - it was a 60km cycle from home to Beecraigs and it went perfectly. The weather was beautiful, the bike was awesome and the campsite is lovely. Some highlights of the cycle (which went along the Forth & Clyde then the Union Canal) was watching the Falkirk Wheel and going across the Avon Viaduct. So many beautiful scenes - I couldn't stop grinning for the first part of the ride as I still can't quite believe I'm doing this!
Beecraigs is wonderful - as it's a weekday it's very quiet and I'm the only tent here! Had a lovely walk around the park this afternoon, then a hearty dinner (plant-based sausages and tomato soup) before a shower and a mug of tea while the sun goes down. I'm probably going to turn in soon as I want a good night's sleep for tomorrow.
So excited to be here - I was saying to Papa this morning that this is something I've been thinking about doing for a while, so it feels equally surreal and incredible to be doing a solo cycling/camping trip. This really goes to show how doable it is now that I have the gear - next time I'll be out for a few nights and really make a trip of it!
Good night!
