Spitfire and poppies

Our retirement village is built on a site that was used during WWII to recycle crashed aircraft, including spitfires.  We have a sculpture of a spitfire silhouette in the middle of the village and I thought it was rather appropriate that it is surrounded by red poppies at the moment.
