A Pussycat Playing in Puddles

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

This is Dave The Cat. He likes to sit on our garden table, which at night is covered with a protective plastic sheet. 

I say it is protective. Caro actually bought it so that it makes a little "house" for hedgehogs and cats to hide under when it is raining. We do not give a flying eff about the table, so long as little animals are happy.

Dave likes the protective sheet. It causes the rain to gather and puddle and he can dip his paw into it and watch the ripples ripple. He chases them across the puddle and dips his paw and watches the ripples ripple back the other way.

He can keep this up for ages. And we often look up to see him out there, racing up and down on the garden table. It can be any time of day. He's just such a happy little man.

And sometimes I think there is a little orange cat in my head; chasing ripples back and forth.
