According to Network Rail 22 million of us live within 500 metres of their railway lines. Add on all the privately owned heritage railways and that number will continue to rise. We are in for a noisy weekend later this month! A small price to pay for a highly efficient rapid, and mass, transport system. Thousands travel through Portobello at speed and are barely audible - unlike their motorised counterparts!
