MEP Courtyard--Paris

I'm repeating this in after hitting some wrong key which lost over 2o lines of my comment (if this happens to you please protest to Blip Central as I have just vehemently done).

MEP is the Maison Europeene de la Photographie (European House of Photography), the best institution in Paris for exhibitions of modern photography, other than the Jeu de Paume. Four or so exhibition are mounted every quarter, on their 4 floors. The current feature is the American Joel Meyerowitz (1938 -); it was excellent, including close-up images of the aftermath of the 9-11 attack in NYC.

The MEP is free on Wednesdays after 5 pm. I took this view as we left at 7:30 pm, and at home we watched the news at 8 pm--live for 35 minutes on the surprise election of Pope Francis, with much interesting commentary.

Then followed 20 minutes on the snow in northeastern France--drifts of over a meter, leaving an unprecedented 400 cars and 3000 plus trucks stranded for over 48 hours along major highways. Unbelievable!
