Big Lizard

Mrs SoL sent me to check the pool for trapped/drowned animals (we get a lot, sadly) and was surprised to these, plus a vole.

The two smaller ones are the little common lizards that we have everywhere.  They run about on walls and help keep the fly populations down (albeit not too successfully - we have been bitten badly this year).  The bigger one is called - wait for it - a Green Lizard.  Whoever came up with that imaginative name?  When I was looking it up, I expected to see that it was called a marginated, greater green spotted mottled super-lizard, or something exotic.  It seems so normal now I know its name.  Its the first I have ever seen here and, like the nightingale the other day, it was only found because it had perished.  I am hoping that this will not become a trend for the unexpected wildlife.  When I approached the pool, I could see straight away that it looked like a small crocodile had got in, so I had gently nudged it with my pole to see if it swam away.  It didn’t.
The extra pic is of the three next to my foot for an idea of size.
